Edmonton to Host 2009 Canadian Senior Racquetball Championships... The best racquetball players from across Canada will meet at the Mayfield in May 18 - 23 to compete for the National title.

They Say There's Nothing Wrong with a Little Healthy Competition... We couldn't agree more. That's why the Alberta Racquetball Association is proud to sponsor the 2009 Junior Provincial Racquetball Championships February 27 - March 1st at Fish Creek Sports Club in Calgary. The best boys and girls in Alberta will compete for the 18U, 16U, 14U, 12U and 10U titles.

NEW and IMPROVED Format for the 2009 Senior Provincial Racquetball Championships... The Alberta Racquetball Association is proud to announce the following divisions at the 2009 Senior Provincial Racquetball Championships: Women's Open, 19+ and 40+; Men's Open, 19+, 30+, 40+, 50+ and 60+. After the first round of Olympic Format matches, (for divisions with more than 12 players) players will be seeded automatically and guaranteed two more matches! This new and improved format is guaranteed to make the Provincial Championships, March 20-22 at Thorncliff Recreation Centre, an event you won't want to miss!

Junior Training Camp sure to generate results... The best juniors in Alberta were brought together in Calgary, November 14 - 16, 2008 to prepare for the 20th World Junior Racquetball Championships in Tempe, Arizona. Coaches Kris Odegard, Marc Caouette and John Halko were on a hand to help with Advanced Skills and Strategies, Error Detection and Correction and Officiating.

Kris Odegard Breaks the Sound Barrior… Ranked #15 on the IRT pro tour, Kris Odegard broke through the 'sound barrier' by wearing a cordless headset and inears to teach, demonstrate and work with participants at the Advanced Skills and Strategies clinics held through out the Province November 10 - 13th, 2008. More than 60 participants in Sherwood Park, Edmonton, Wetaskiwin and Calgary were treated to great sound and comfortable viewing while learning about serve selection and strategy, footwork, and the importance of watching their opponent during a game.

Professional Racquetball event in Edmonton a success…The world’s best Racquetball athletes have come and gone, and the sport of Racquetball in Edmonton may never be the same. The Canadian Racquetball Classic, held at the Mayfield Inn & Suites Athletic Club, October 9 - 12, 2008 showcased the best Racquetball athletes the world has to offer. Athletes originating from Canada, the United States, Mexico and South America used Edmonton as a world stage to showcase the highest level of competitive Racquetball.

Alberta Racquetball's Skill Development Manual... The Racquetball Skills Development Program manual is now ready for distribution to all ARA members. Coaches, league directors and club managers please contact Barbara May at 780-918-5332 to receive manuals for the racquetball players in your programs.
